The following is a detailed breakdown of the built by the owner. I began building this car in the late summer of 1986 and completed it in the mid-summer of 1987. It look eleven and a half months to complete (that was working on it every day) and be ready to be driven anywhere. It was inspected by the Secretary of State in Illinois, passed inspection and they assigned a VIN number and plate to the car so that license and insurance could be purchased. I purchased a 1978 Mustang II for most of the necessary parts such as the engine etc. The following is a list of what was taken from the Mustang. Complete Engine w/ mounts & brackets (before assembling the car I checked the engine out and found a problem with it and had to buy a new short block because 2 of the piston walls were scorched so because of that I completely rebuilt the engine so as not to have any problems with it in the future. Vin # SOS 300207 Titled as a 1978 Ford Transmission w/ mount & cross member Shifter Assembly w/ shield Radiator & hoses (had to have another one built because the one I saved was too big to fit) Solenoid Electronic Ignition Module Complete Front Suspension w/ hardware Complete Steering Assembly Mounting Bracket – Steering Column & Brake Pedal Complete Pedal Assembly Master Cylinder & Distribution Block Drive Shaft (had to have a new one made original was too long) Emergency Brake & Cable Rear Leaf Springs & differential Assembly w/sheckles & hardware Jack Battery & Cables Clamps to hold down brake & fuel lines Wire on all electrical connectors Shock Absorbers & plates (replaced with all new ones) Accelerator cable & pedal assembly Dimmer switch Seat Belts (bought new ones to match interior) Below is the list of all the Optional Accessories I purchased for the Kit to make the car as complete as possible. Coupe Option in lieu of standard (includes Luggage Rack) Complete nut and bolt kit with stainless steel trim screws Wood rim steering wheel, including adaptor Slam-type door locks Chrome wheels 2/wire baskets & lug nuts, set of 5 Ford Running boards with rubber mats, fender welting and brackets Custom gas tank including filler neck and cap Tonneau cover Wind wings for windshield Plexiglas w/all hinges and hardware Wiper arms and blades Exhaust stacks stainless steel complete with flanges Chrome trumpet
