Originally built at Ford's Metuchen plant on February 23, 1968 with the rare Automatic Transmission / Air Conditioning combination, shipped to Fuller Ford Inc. of Cincinnati , OH on March 14, 1968. This Shelby has been meticulously restored to its original condition by David Randal of Randal's Restorations. The body was media blasted down to the bare metal and sealed with epoxy primer prior to receiving a base coat clear coat urethane finish by the Pros at Rod Epperson's Hotrod's Toy Shop of Kerrville Texas. Rod, and his two sons Jerred and Dan Epperson of Hotrod's Toy Shop applied all the finishes. The original 428 Police Interceptor engine has been balanced and blueprinted by Duffins Machine Shop of San Antonio Texas. In addition to the original steel wheels and hubcaps and and polyglas tires (which are included with the sale), this GT500 is currently equipped with the more appealing 16* Shelby ten spoke aluminum wheels on modern BF Goodrich tires, optimized setup for driving purposes. This is the quintessential American muscle car for any collector who wants an enjoyable, hassle-free Blue Chip investment piece.
