I have collected cars for 35 years. This is one of the classics from my personal collection, see others, at www.gccc.us According to the prior owner, this is an all original (including spiral shocks) 1958 Ford Thunderbird convertible with just over 53,000 original miles. Overall this car is in very good condition and a true survivor. However, it should be noted that it would be purchased as a project car needing just a little bit of TLC to make it a first class automobile.Complete new engine rebuilt, new brakes, new front end, new interior,. THis square bird has a padded dash.. Polish and buff for a nice driver or paint it for a show car. NOTE: This car is titled as a 1958 with matching VIN, however, it is a 1959. Car is SOLD AS IS! ~~ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT ???Convertible ???Power Brakes ???Power Steering ???Power Windows ???AM Radio OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT ???352 CID / 300 hp ???power convertible top ???four-barrel Holley carb carburetor The Second to Fourth Generation Thunderbird convertibles were similar in design to the Lincoln convertible of the time and borrowed from earlier Ford hardtop/convertible designs. While these Thunderbird models had a true convertible soft top, the top was lowered to stow in the forward trunk area. This design reduced available trunk space when the top was down. The trunk lid was rear-hinged; raised and lowered via hydraulic cylinders during the top raising or lowering cycle. The forward end of the trunk lid contained a metal plate that extended upward to cover the area that the top is stowed in. With the top down and the trunk lid lowered, there is no sight of the soft top.
