For Sale: 1953 Chevrolet Corvette in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

Like many high-dollar cars, the 1953 Corvette eventually found itself priced out of the market. But don't worry if you don't have the $200,000 or so required to own one, because this incredibly well-detailed replica is available for a fraction of the price and is faster and more comfortable to boot!

It really shouldn't be surprising that some enterprising individual cloned the first Corvette; it's an icon after all. It's important to note that this is NOT one of those goofy body kits on an existing Corvette, but a scratch-built machine intended to capture the looks of the original with modern underpinnings, and it has succeeded brilliantly. With dimensions that exactly match the original, the body is quite convincing and if not for the slightly oversized tires and flashy wheels, this one would easily pass as an original. Polo White is the only choice, replica or not, and thanks to the modern fiberglass, finish quality is worlds better than any original. There's obviously a lot of money tied up in this car, with very good fit and finish, bright chrome, and the ability to go above and beyond "factory correct" in every single aspect. The two-stage urethane is impossibly shiny and it shows very few signs of use with only 9971 miles since it was built.

A few modern touches inside give away the illusion pretty quickly, but the pleated red leather bucket seats and twin cockpit instrument panel show original-style details that make this car a fantastic alternative to the original. There are only very minor signs of use with some light stretching of the driver's seat cushions, but otherwise it looks almost new. The big billet steering wheel with white rim is a fitting modern tribute to the original, and the modern VDO gauges look enough like the factory dials to help the illusion. However, there's a modern Sony AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash, an automatic transmission underneath, and a tilt wheel to help you get comfortable. Even the trunk is finished in correct-looking carpets that may very well be exact 1953 Corvette reproductions.

The original Corvette's biggest problem was horsepower. It looked fast, but even with an upgraded Blue Flame Six, it just didn't run like it looked. This replica has no such problems, thanks to a 350 cubic inch V8, Holley carburetor, and tubular headers. It's nicely dressed with an early-style chrome air cleaner and Z/28-style finned valve covers, plus a chrome alternator, so there's no shame in opening the hood once everyone has figured out this isn't a real one. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that's a nice travelling partner, and highway-friendly gears out back mean that this one is happy at high-speeds. The frame is a custom fabricated piece that mimics the original X-frame design, and the Flowmaster exhaust system is neatly tucked in the rockers for plenty of ground clearance. Power disc brakes are a welcome addition compared to the original's manual drums, and with staggered 17-inch rubber on shiny Torque Thrust wheels, it actually handles like a Corvette should.

Beautifully built and a blast to drive, this is your chance to get a '53 Corvette that comes without guilt. Drive it, park it, enjoy it, all without the fear of wrecking a priceless American icon. Call today!
