If you are looking for an easy, Classic Corvette project, here it is ! All the rough, dirty and costly work is completed. Plus, this is a #'s matching Corvette, so you know it will go up in value with everything you do to it.
Built K30 June 30 1972
1972 Corvette Coupe with a small block 350 and a turbo 400 automatic transmission. It has white paint with a saddle interior. This is a numbers matching Corvette with the original motor, transmission and rear end. It has just gone through a frame off restoration. The entire frame was disassembled, sandblasted and painted and all of the suspension components were rebuilt. New brake lines and fuel lines were installed. The upper and lower control arms were rebuilt with new bushings and ball joints. The power steering is all new, pump, slave cylinder, and hoses. The trailing arms were completely rebuilt with new bushings, bearings, e-brake kit, backing plates and new strut rod bushings. New rear end mount bushings, and rear end cross member bushings were installed. The entire drive train, rear end, transmission and engine have been rebuilt. The drive line and half-shafts have all new u-joints. It has correct 15x8 rally wheels and re-built stainless steel sleeved brake calipers for the power brakes.
The body was reinstalled and the Corvette has a fresh coat of paint in its original white color. The body was original and un-hit with no major repairs. Any rust issues in the wind shield frame were addressed before painting. You can see in the pictures of the nice fitting original t-tops. The hood was replaced with the long version to eliminate the wiper door assembly and the problems that go along with them. The hood fits well but not perfect (see pics). There is not a painted rear filler panel at this time. There will be a new windshield installed. The tail lamps and marker lamps are installed and look good. The “Stingray” and crossed flag emblems are new. The engine bay is very clean and tidy.
The car has its original tilt-telescopic steering column, non-power windows and air conditioning. The saddle interior has not been restored. It needs carpet, door panels, seat covers, t-top panels and e-brake console, plus a few other items. It has the optional shoulder harnesses. All new weatherstripping will be included with the car.
The motor has not been started and it needs a carburetor, starter and any motor accessories that are not pictured. There is a new exhaust pipe system that goes with the car. There is no fuel tank, so a new one will need to be ordered and installed. Front and rear bumpers are included but they will need to be re-chromed to look as nice as the car. There are no rocker moldings.
The 1972 Corvette was the last year of the removable window and front and rear chrome bumpers.
This Corvette is on the home stretch and should make a nice and easy restoration project. All the difficult and expensive jobs are done on this Corvette which makes it a really great deal. There has been $20,000 in work done, you could not buy a Corvette and get all this for less!
