For Sale: 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova in Arlington, Texas

Vehicle Description

1966 Chevrolet Chevy II

If you are just looking for a mild cruiser then this beautifully built 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II is just not the car for you. This classic muscle car is meant for the individual that desires the feeling of raw horsepower at their fingertips. Sitting behind the wheel and listening to the motor rumble is enough to get anyone's heart pumping. While the car can double as a show car it was built to perform on the track. It has won races consistently and dynos out at 673hp to the flywheel. It has no problem lifting the front end off the ground and spinning the tires. It's fastest time was 5:40 seconds in an 8th mile at 128 mph. It is a Texas True 10-5 car that would certify in the 8:50 1/4 miles NHRA class. The car is actually titled as a 1967 Chevrolet but was customized with 1966 front fenders and headlight buckets which gives it the exterior appearance of a 66. The body is incredibly straight and is coated in a slick Spies Hector Metallic Blue which looks gorgeous out in the sunlight. A lot of the exterior trim has been removed but the stock style bumpers and front end chrome are in place. All of the glass is in good shape and is topped with a nice dark tint that contrasts nicely with the Blue paint. The front hood has just enough of a cowl and is entirely removable. All of the exterior lights are wired in and work properly except for the rear right running light which was customized as a place to mount the kill switch. Weld racing wheels are found under all four corners and each is wrapped with Mickey Thompson tires.

Pull the hood and you will be greeted with an extremely well built 423 cubic inch motor. Only the highest level of components were used throughout and it is evident looking it over how nicely it was put together. Because of the quality of the build, the car can easily be pulled in to a car show and command respect from others. Everything has a very clean finish and parking it next to other vintage dragsters will show you how nicely it was cared for. The motor is mated to a transmission and Ford 9" rear end. Its has disc brakes throughout and a rack and pinion steering system. Check out the following table to see some of the drivetrain components.

If you are unfamiliar with dragsters, crawling into the interior may remind you more of a space ship or time machine but we assure you all of those buttons and switches are there for a reason. Nitrous control, a computer delay, and MSD components all work together to tune in the car for the perfect run. While the focus was housing the drag components, it was still well done with things like the dash, doors, etc being nicely painted. The car has a full roll cage with dual bucket seats up front and 4 point S line racing harness.
