Boss 302
"The 1969-70 Mustang Boss 302 was created to certify a Ford car
for Trans-Am racing, which required that it be powered by an engine
no larger than five liters. Larry Shinoda, a former GM stylist,
created the name and image of the Boss 302, adding the stripes and
spoilers to make perhaps the raciest Mustang ever created. Ford
came close, but did not win the Trans Am title for 1969. The
higher production of 7,013 Boss 302s in 1970 (compared with 1969's
1,628) was undoubtedly in some part attributable to Ford's winning
the Trans-Am championship in 1970, not to mention that many
considered the appearance of the 1970 edition to be an
improvement."
There are over 120 pictures of this car in the ad below, including

This Boss 302 is a very nice combination of original with some
cosmetic and mechanical restoration as needed. Please let all the
pictures load (there are over 100) to see the great condition of
this Classic Ford. This car has not been detailed, just wiped down
by hand before the pictures. The current owner was an employee of a
local Ford dealer and he purchased the car in the mid 1980's (from
the estate of the original owner) because he could not afford one
in 1970. As a Ford employee he had access to a large inventory of
original Ford parts at the dealership and he purchased all the
parts he could get his hands on to use on this car over the years.
Consequently, almost all of the parts used were original Ford
stock! The body was taken down to bare metal and repainted the
original Grabber Orange in the early '90s, most of the exterior
trim and emblems were replaced with the new original parts and the
bumpers were re-chromed. During the next few years, the engine
received a complete rebuild and the suspension was upgraded with
new shocks, springs, brakes etc. The interior is mostly original
and in excellent condition! As the years ensued the car was driven
sparingly and was always stored indoors with improvements as
needed. All lights, gauges, signals, heater, radio, wipers and
windows are fully operational. The car runs and drives terrific
and is now ready for a new owner! We have a copy of the original
invoice, the Marti report and the original space saver spare tire
that will be included in the sale. For all you numbers guys out
