Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1996 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. The Grand Sports were the true
swan song of the C4. Chevrolet used it to showcase all the reasons
why we love the Corvette - power, poise, and true distinction.
Combining Admiral Blue with Arctic White stripes and those bright
red hash marks on the fenders was a stroke of genius. Not only did
the appearance made these instant classics, but also the rarity.
Only 1,000 coupes and convertibles were produced in total, and when
you look at suspension and interior option packages, this is one of
only 217. Chevy chose these Grand Sports to introduce the LT4
fuel-injected V8. The 330 hp engine boasted a number of
improvements, including high-flow fuel injectors, higher
compression, and a completely revived valvetrain, including a
performance cam. And the ZF six-speed manual transmission puts you
in full control over it all. Add in power steering, four-wheel
power disc brakes, and grippy ZR-rated tires, and you know exactly
why this is the one to drive. This GS is loaded with power windows,
power locks, keyless entry/alarm, power mirrors, electric rear
defogger, cruise control, dual airbags, cold blowing air
conditioning, and a powerful AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo system with
Bose speakers. This one-year-only high-performance LT4 motor and
six-speed is not only a terrific package, but it's also quite a
rare sight.
