Vehicle Description
This 1973 Volkswagen Type II 23-Window microbus re-creation is
powered by a rebuilt 1.5-liter air-cooled flat-4 engine mated to a
4-speed manual transmission. It received a complete nut-and-bolt
restoration, which included overhauling the suspension, steering,
braking and electrical systems. Belly pans have also been added to
match the specification of the German buses and improve chassis
rigidity. The engine is equipped with a graduated crank pulley, as
well as an adjustable tensioner and alternator pulleys. The
exterior features a side ladder, dual side mirrors, safari-style
flip-up front windows, pop-out side windows and dual roof racks
with wood slats and leather straps. This microbus rides on classic
whitewall tires mounted on red steel wheels with chrome VW hubcaps
and trim rings. It is finished in a two-tone Volkswagen Lotus White
and black with a retractable vinyl roof over a red interior. The
interior has seating for nine with three rows of bench seating
upholstered in two-tone red vinyl, which extends to the side panels
and door panels. It also features an overhead ventilation console,
black carpeting and seat belts for all nine occupants. It was built
by Overland Imports and converted to a 23-window model as part of
the restoration completed in 2022. ** PREVIEW
