The original Honda S2000 - thanks to its perfectly balanced
2,813-pound curb weight and its naturally aspirated four-cylinder's
screaming 8,800-rpm redline - was an undeniable success, touted by
media and owners alike for its unfiltered, unfettered sports car
experience.
Arriving in 2004, the S2000 "AP2" offered the same carefully
distilled driving experience, albeit with subtle improvements to
mid-range torque and tractability on ordinary driving. The chassis
received a recalibration, with firmer front and softer rear spring
rates, bestowing the S2000 with more progressive handling
characteristics. The high-revving F-series powerplant was enlarged
to 2.2-liters, increasing torque to 162 lb-ft while also delivering
peak power at a more accessible 7,800 rpm. Transmission refinements
yielded smoother gear changes, while subtle exterior and interior
revisions - including redesigned fascias and door panels - enhanced
both aesthetics and ergonomics. The cumulative effect of these
modifications was a slightly quicker, more forgiving, and more
refined sports car that remained true to its purist roots.
This 2005 Honda S2000 is an exceptionally low-mileage example of
Honda's celebrated roadster. Finished in desirable Silverstone
Metallic protected by full PPF, this desirable AP2 model has
covered a mere 4,754 miles from new and stored in a
humidity-controlled facility when not in use. Inside, the cockpit
features Black leather upholstery, aluminum pedal covers, air
conditioning, and a factory CD stereo. Additional standard
equipment includes a power-retractable black soft top, xenon
headlights, and 17 inch factory wheels wrapped in Bridgestone
Potenza tires. The accompanying clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report
indicates that the S2000 remained with its original owner in
Indiana until 2020, with subsequent registration in New Jersey and
North Carolina.
The S2000 has become a bonafide modern classic since its
discontinuation in 2009, with well-preserved examples like this AP2
becoming more collectible by the day.
