For Sale: 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air in Rogers, Minnesota

Vehicle Description

This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible is an absolutely stunning, frame-off restored convertible that is ready to become your new summer cruiser! In 1955, Chevy kicked off Tri-Five era with the introduction its new, completely redesigned passenger car line comprised of the entry-level 150, intermediate 210, and top-of-the-line Bel Air. After the massively successful debut of the new '55 Chevrolets, the second iteration of Chevy's Tri-Five Bel Airs were introduced to its dealers in November of 1955. While staying true to the initial Bel Air look, the new '56 Bel Airs sported new designs both inside and out. The 1956 Bel Air interiors were the plushest, most luxurious, and well-optioned across the Chevrolet's passenger car line due to the fact that the Bel Air was the most premium model. The Bel Airs also were outfitted with fantastic options as standard equipment including a clock and lockable gloveboxes, both of which were considered big of luxuries back in 1956. The exteriors on the 1956 Chevrolets underwent a substantial facelift as well. Sporting a new full-width chrome grille below a redesigned hood that was flatter and longer, the 1956 Bel Air had an even more modern look up front. Additionally, the new-look hoods were appointed with the now iconic accentuated "V" treatment, a design element that would be carried forward. Running down the sides of the '56 Bel Air was a new chrome side trim design that featured a painted insert and ran nearly the full length of the car at the beltline and swept down at the rear. Perhaps the most famous exterior update on the new 1956 Bel Air was the placement of the hidden gas filler cap which, in true 50s fashion, is tucked behind the driver's side tail light. This particular 1956 Bel Air Convertible comes to us from a southern-based collector who clearly took great care of the car after its professional frame-off restoration. Powering this '56 Chevy is a 265 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor that was said to have pushed out 205 horsepower when new. The 265 V8 is backed by a Powerglide Automatic transmission that makes this 1956 Bel Air a breeze for anybody to drive. Exhaust exits the 265 Chevy powerplant via a dual exhaust setup that gives the car a fantastic throaty sound. This 1956 Chevy Bel Air comes loaded with options! With power steering, manuvering in and out of those tight spaces at the local car show or drive-in is easy and the overall driving experience is much improved. Riding on a set of Wide Whitewall bias-ply tires on painted steel wheels with full wheelcovers, this '56 Bel Air Convertible has a gorgeous look cruising down the road. Further adding to the 50's allure of this Chevrolet is the addition of the rear-mounted continental kit along with with a pair of color-matched fender skirts which are included with this car as well. The white vinyl convertible top is in excellent condition and is a power top, operated with the simple pull/push of a button mounted neatly under the dash. The exterior of this 1956 Bel Air has been correctly refinished in a beautiful two-tone paint scheme consisting of Tropical Turquoise and India Ivory, just how it rolled off the Los Angeles factory floor back in 1956. Moreover, the chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this 1956 Bel Air are in fantastic condition and complete the exterior look of the car. The interior of this Tri-Five Chevy is absolutely gorgeous! The front and rear bench seats have been correctly reupholstered in Ivory Vinyl accented by Tuquoise cloth inserts. The matching carpeting, door panels, steering wheel, and painted dash are all in wonderful condition as well and all appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with an instrument cluster consisting of a 110 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as a Wonderbar AM radio and clock. Whether you're buying your first classic car or you're adding to your existing collection of Tri-Five Chevys, this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible would make an excellent choice.
