12,529 actual miles! This is a survivor in great shape. 1 family
owned. Mrs Frieda Griesel bought it new. It then went to her
nephew, we bought it from his son.
EXTERIOR: All original body, it's clean. It is straight and fits
right. No rust or damage. It is still wearing most of it's original
54 year old paint! It shows really well with just minor
imperfections. Beautiful Shalimar Gold Metallic. The chrome and
trim is straight and shiny. The original glass is clear. Original
weather strips are still very good. The hub caps look great, the
tires were replaced with radials.
INTERIOR: It is completely original and in excellent shape! The
dash area, vents, knobs, controls look new. The steering wheel is
not cracked. It has climate control, set the temp and it's
automatic. The original radio is included, it has been upgraded
with a retro stereo without cutting anything. The upholstery is
excellent, door panels are mint. Headliner and visors are mint. The
carpet and floor mats are even original! The only thing I would do
is have a few plastic seat trim pieces redyed because they
discolored.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Big 472 cubic inches making 375 hp! It has been
very well maintained and cared for. Mostly all original condition.
It is one of the cleaner survivor motor compartments I've seen. All
the components: vacuum lines, cadmium hood hinges, overflow bottle,
windshield squirters are just the way they should be.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Original paint is in great shape with the
original sticker. Inside has the original wall to wall liner. It
still has the original spare and jack. It has never been used, the
ink stamp is still on the tread! The original wooden wedge is still
there too. The trunk light works.
UNDERSIDE: The underside is rock solid original metal. It is very
well preserved, maintained as needed. It looks like the shocks have
been replaced, the brake hoses look, brand new muffler and
tailpipe. Looking up at the motor it's clean, starter looks fresh.
It has it's original Turbo 400 automatic trans with the 1969 tag
still riveted to the side of it.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and cleaned the contacts on the
reverse light switch and wiper switch, tightened the a/c lines,
evacuated and recharged the system.
This is a time capsule. Only 12,529 miles, that's amazing. You can
restore a car over and over but it can only be original once. As
time goes on there are fewer and fewer like this!
