Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe. The timeless styling of the 1930s
American cars is unmistakable. The Ford Coupe may be the coolest of
them all. From the vast, swooping fenders to the teardrop trunk,
these cars seem to flow forever. The firewall has been pushed back
3" to accommodate the larger 350CID "H.D. Deluxe" V-8, with an
Edelbrock carburetor, Flowmaster dual exhaust, custom one-off valve
covers and air cleaner all painted in a matte finish, with that
work done by BH Customs. Backing the 350 is a smooth shifting 700R4
automatic transmission and out back is a Ford 9-inch rear with
3.50:1 gear was chosen to handle getting the power to the ground.
The front end was outfitted with chromed tubular control arms,
Heidts Super Ride II IFS Mustang II power rack and pinion steering,
and Wilwood disc brakes. The interior was thoughtfully designed by
Downey's Auto Upholstery in Wichita Kansas and consists of grey
tweed and tan leather on the Glide Engineering bucket back bench
seat and follows over to the door panels and headliner. A nicely
integrated Vintage air conditioning system looks factory, and a
Kenwood AM/FM/CD radio head unit lives above the review mirror. The
14" Billet Specialties Fastlane leather wrapped steering wheel sits
on a Flaming River polished tilt steering column and fronts
Autometer Gauges consisting of a 120mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm
tachometer along with auxiliary water temperature, battery voltage,
oil pressure and fuel level gauges. This '36 Ford has everything a
street rodder needs to have a fun time getting to all the car shows
you'll want to attend or just cruising in style on those summer
nights.
