Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to present for sale,
on consignment, this precursor to the steering wheel, a 1900 Ford
Tiller Steer Car! This was hand built here in Arizona using a set
of plans and some experienced wood working skills. The car is
powered by a 10.5 HP Briggs and Stratton gas engine and a one speed
automatic transmission with reverse. The Tiller Steer takes little
time to master and is a joy to behold. The wood exterior and brown
vinyl seat stay true to the time when this was a state of the art
alternative to a horse and buggy. Originally intended to get the
owner/builder through 18 holes at his golf course, the skinny tires
made it hard to get through some sandy washes. Rather than put
knobby tires on it, he decided to stick to a traditional cart
instead. This is great for local parades or sticking to the cart
path at your local golf course. Reach out to our sales staff by
phone, text or email to get the details on how to purchase this
neat piece of history from a time long long ago and thank you for
looking!
