Vehicle Description
1935 Ford Humpback Sedan Custom
With the arrival of 1935, Ford continued to incorporate slight
changes into their vehicle design. The cab size started to become
more spacious, the grills had more of a bend and the fenders were
becoming more rounded. These subtle changes would continue for
years to come and resulted in some great looking classics. The 1935
had a variety of body styles, like the Humpback Sedan you see here,
and were an excellent starting point for a Custom Street Rod. This
is a very nice build that only has 13,141 miles on it since being
completed. That means it is road tested but also still in a very
freshly restored state. The body is all original Steel and coated
in a PPG Hot Blue. Thin well laid down 3 color Pinstriping runs the
length of the body and onto the 3 piece Rootlieb hood. The body has
also been modified with a filled in roof, filled in cowl vent,
shaved door handles, hidden hinges, and a smooth running board. Up
front is a custom aluminum grill that looks perfect. The original
bumpers have been removed and the turn signals are recessed into
the body. The taillights have also been recessed and a 3rd brake
light added for extra visibility. The car has a great stance and
sits on a set of custom Budnik wheels (17 inch - front, 18 inch -
rear) with Falken tires.
Prop open the hood and you will reveal the 350 c.i. 330hp crate
motor that runs extremely well. It has been fitted with an
Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, Billet valve covers, a
Billet air cleaner, polished aluminum alternator, and polished AC
compressor. It is really clean under the hood and even the brackets
to mount the AC and alternator are polished aluminum. Cooling is
never an issue thanks to the Walker radiator and electric fan. The
car has a GM 700R automatic transmission with 2000 stall converter
combined with a Ford 8 inch rear end with 3.90 gears on elliptical
springs. Underneath the car it has its original chassis that has
been modified. This is definitely a car you could throw mirrors
under because the chassis and a majority of the components are
powder coated Blue and utilizes stainless steel fasteners. Up front
the car has a Mustang II independent front suspension with a power
rack & pinion steering system. It also has power brakes with discs
up front and drums in rear. Other nice features include a complete
new wiring harness and a 20 gallon polished stainless steel
tank.
The interior is a Ron Mangus interior who is a high quality
designer known for his very high quality workmanship. It is a nice
combination of Gray leather and suede that looks perfect. It has
bucket seats up front with modern lap belts in front and rear. The
dash is painted and has been modified with a recessed Dakota
Digital gauge package. It also has a Vintage AC/Heat system with
inset vents. A tilt steering column is in place as well and topped
off with a billet steering wheel. The headliner is very cleanly
done as well and utilizes an overhead console to house the Kenwood
AM/FM/CD player and power window controls. In addition to those
interior window switches the drivers window can be lowered using
the Key Fob. This is a feature that was added due to the shaved
doors so you can walk up, drop the window and gain access to the
inside. It also has a separate hidden emergency entrance and remote
battery ports. In the trunk you will find additional storage space
and the battery.
The car comes with a show sign and needs nothing but a new driver.
It is a top of the line street rod that shows very well.
