Major improvements in this generation were dual airbags, rack and pinion steering, 16 -inch wheels, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and composite body panels. The return of the functional dual inlet "Ram Air" hoods returned in 1996 on WS6 Firebirds and Trans Am models.
