Originally launched for the 1962 model year, the Nova (then called
"Chevy II") was designed to provide "maximum functionalism with
thrift." The Nova compact car was first designed with the Ford
Falcon used as a benchmark, and it sold (albeit not continuously)
for a total of 22 model years between 1962 and 1988. While
envisioned by its creators as a basic car, the Nova went on to be
offered in a wide variety of configurations over the years, from
econo-minded family transportation (even including a station wagon
variant) to a tire-burning muscle car with a 396-cubic-inch
big-block V8.I guess we can just get this over with and remove a
section of our viewing audience. If you are looking for a
completely stock 1972 Nova SS, see you later. Our great looking
1972 Nova SS, freshly dipped in gorgeous, shimmering Marina Blue
paint, with stock looking rally wheels, plays the part of a
completely harmless and docile 1972 Nova SS, that is, until you
turn the key! Once fired, what sounds like the start of a NASCAR
race has erupted! A massive 468 cubic inch big block roars to life
while being force-fed gasoline from a Holly Brawler Carburetor. The
combustible remnants explosively seek the first available exit and
does so through electronically controlled exhaust cut-outs. The
beast can be tamed, somewhat, by closing the cut-outs. Your choice
on how much of the peace you would like to disturb. Inside this
pristine muscle machine, more of the same niceness and newness.
Everything has been replaced and still has that new muscle machine
smell! There is really no way to do this Blue Nova justice in such
a small write up space featured here. The pictures, also featured
here, will truly tell a thousand words.
