Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is excited to list this 1970
Chevrolet El Camino SS for sale. Originally code 48 Forrest green
livery is now upgraded to Tuxedo Black w/white band aid stripes.
Adding to the curb appeal is a fully functional cowl-induction
hood, black vinyl top, SS badging, black tonneau cover, chrome
bumpers, and 15" Rally wheels wrapped in white letter radial tires.
Although no documentation exists, it is claimed by the owner to be
an authentic SS454 due to the front disc brakes which were standard
with the SS package. This black-on-black beauty interior features a
mix of originality with some upgraded more desirable setup.
Originally a column-shift with bench seat, the interior now
features a staple shifted console, black vinyl Strato bucket seats
with seat belts, black carpeting, black vinyl door panels, upgraded
AM/FM radio with sounds system installed behind the seats, and even
rubber bed protector. The truck is also equipped with the optional
air lift adjustable suspension and upgraded to Yukon geared dura
grip differential and Yukon axles. Some additional driving options
include power steering and power brakes. Powering this beast is
claimed by the owner to be a GMPP replacement 454 CID Big Block V8
engine that boasts 469HP (a full 19HP more than what even the
legendary LS6 would provide) mated to a TH400 3-speed automatic
transmission. Pushing this power to the ground is a 12-bolt posi
differential with highway friendly gearing (claimed by the owner).
Notable engine specs include GMPP oval aluminum port cylinder
heads, 9.6:1 compression ratio, a forged steel crankshaft,
hydraulic roller camshaft, forged aluminum pistons, a dual plane
aluminum intake manifold, Full MSD digital spark control and vacuum
advance distributor, and a Holley Street Avenger 770cfm Carburetor.
This big block has a rumble to it from a 2" Hedman black max
ceramic coated headers and 2 1/2" aluminized X-piped Magnaflow
mufflered exhaust with bowtie exhaust tips! If you are looking for
an El Camino, this one year run 1970 with a big block should be the
one that you want. This 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS is listed by
