Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present this
awesome blue 1965 Shelby Cobra replica. This classic Snake is
courtesy of a Factory Five Racing Cobra kit and a lot of man-hours
in the build. Although it's titled as a "2001 ASVE" ("Assembled
Vehicle"), it looks and sounds just like the venerable big
block-powered Shelby Cobras from the 1960s. Its gorgeous deep blue
paint looks great, and the classic racing stripes add to the
vintage racing look. Under the hood lurks a massive 460 CID V8,
which is backed by a stout 5-speed manual transmission. Fire this
bad boy up, and you're treated to the unmistakable sound of a
sidepipe-equipped Cobra roadster: plenty of chop to go along with
that deep rumble. The big 460 is also equipped with a Holley 4BBL
Carb, Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, Aluminum Ford Motorsport
CobraJet heads, MSD Ignition and billet distributor, and wrapped
headers. A substantial aluminum radiator helps keep that big block
running in the cool zone, aided by twin electric fans, and fed by
an Edelbrock aluminum water pump. Four-wheel disc braking provides
ample stopping power, and the slotted/drilled rotors up front add
some additional performance vibe as they hide behind the polished
Halibrand-style aluminum wheels. Sticky Cooper Zeon performance
radials keep this wicked ride glued down in the corners. Inside,
the black interior is in very nice shape. The black synthetic
leather seating is enhanced by suede-like inserts, which help
provide better breathing (than vinyl) and help keep the occupants
from any slippage while they're strapped in with the very effective
5-point Simpson Racing harness belts. A complete set of AutoMeter
gauges provide instrumentation readouts for critical operating
temps and pressures. If you're looking for that vintage Cobra ride,
without the 7-figure price tag of a real Shelby Cobra, this one
