Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to present this survivor
example of a 1981 VW Vanagon! Westfalia is the designation of
various specially converted Volkswagen camper vans. It is named
after Westfalia-Werke, the contractor that built the vans, which is
headquartered in the town of Rheda-Wiedenbrck, located in the
Westphalia region of Germany.Westfalia-Werke also converted
non-Volkswagen vans and produced trailers and other products, but
they were best known for their Volkswagen camper conversions.
Westfalia began converting Volkswagen buses in 1951. Their famous
"pop-top" package was added later and became very popular on the
second-generation VW Bus from 1968 to 1979, and its successor the
Vanagon. This particular example has been well taken care of and
boast mostly original cosmetics and interior components, but the
maintenance and upgrade list is extensive over the past few years!
Powering this 1981 example is a GTX rebuilt 2.0 Liter motor backed
by a 4-Speed Manual Transmission. An extensive amount of trim
pieces and replacement parts from GoWesty have made it on this van,
and the suspension, brakes, and shift linkage have been given
attention, too, so please ask! If you are in the market for a ready
to camp iconic VW Vanagon Westfalia, this example is sure to get
the job done like its 1981!*Included in the sale are a Yakima Load
Bars, Garmin GPS, DC power distribution panel on dash, Goal Zero
100WH Solar Generator, Goal Zero 100 Watt Solar Panel, and ICECO 46
Liter Compressor Refrigerator.
