Vehicle Description
This is the car the Blues Brothers wished they could have, or maybe
you're just thinking about taking on Cleetus McFarland's Project
Neighbor. It's a 2015 Dodge Charger Police Pursuit vehicle that has
been upgraded with a Mopar supercharged Hellcat powerplant. So it's
time to take back the street with this 700+ hp custom build.
The Dodge Charger is a mean machine no matter if you're bringing
justice or evading it. And it seems like you can do both in this
one. It's a real-deal police pursuit vehicle, and it still retains
features like the pusher bar and working spotlight. Basically, the
lack of a light bar and siren are what make it just legal enough
for civilian duty. And because this is closely related to the
Charger Hellcat, this car just seems like a natural progression.
But there's a lot that needs to be done. You can see these upgrades
because many of the best parts are done in black to provide a bit
of a contrast to the upgraded Granite Crystal Metallic paint. The
speedy dark style is on the full-width rear spoiler, rear valance,
and the curvaceous hood that was engineered for a hood scoop and
ventilation. The wheels are particularly cool where the front ones
keep the stock cop black units, but the rear ones are subtly
upgraded to accommodate the wide rubber that this one needs to
bring all the power to the pavement.
They took their time with the interior to reestablish the right
luxury features. This includes dual-zone automatic A/C climate
control, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/ignition, dual
airbags, anti-lock brakes, and cruise control. The center of this
interior is a premium touchscreen that runs all the luxury and
technology features, including Bluetooth, satellite navigation, and
a full set of race-ready apps. It's also still unmistakably a cop
car with the Havis metal center console w/toggle switches, casual
cloth front seats, and even the spacious trunk still has its weapon
shelf. The back seat was once reserved for offenders. But they
brought the comfort back with the Hellcat's leather back seat and
full door panels. And there's always plenty of legroom in these
full-size Chargers. So you'll have plenty of family and friends
volunteering to be "perps" in this one. But no matter how many
people you have along for the ride, this will always be a driver's
machine. That's why they made sure to add the right pieces, like
the paddle shifters and the correct 200 mph speedometer.
Just in case they didn't believe the badging on the outside, you'll
be happy to lift the hood and show off the 6.2-liter HEMI V8 with a
supercharger on top. This 700+ hp package was designed to fit in
this car, but it takes a lot of careful planning and upgrading to
get it right. This includes hardware like Hellcat's rack & pinion
power steering, adjustable fully independent suspension, active
exhaust valves, and all the correct wiring harnesses. That last one
is essential because this is a modern as any other supercar. So you
also have the additional computer interfaces that run everything
from the motor to the active suspension system. The eight-speed
automatic transmission is the same design that's in use with
everyone from Rolls-Royce to Aston Martin. It's smooth, strong, and
quick all on its own. And any time you want full control, the
steering wheel mounted paddle shifters give you the shifting action
of a racecar. Plus, the big four-wheel power disc brake package
knows how to give you firm stopping power.
The Charger was the bad guy in Bullitt, but this was once a true
cop car...and so today, this Pursuit Hellcat seems to split that
personality up the middle. So no matter if you're a rogue cop or
just love a ton of power and fun, this is the Mopar muscle machine
that you know you need.
