Vehicle Description
The vibrant color of this 1964 Pontiac Catalina is your first
indication that it's something quite special... but it's far from
the only custom upgrade. The extra sleek body, custom leather
interior, full stereo system, four-wheel disc brakes, and big 455
V8 all make for an awesome custom cruiser. And there's even a full
air ride suspension so that you can dial in your ideal stance on
demand.
We can understand why there would be a full custom build made of
the '64 Catalina There were many single-year elements that made
this rolling art. The imposing stacked headlight look has added
sophistication with the extra-bright bumpers contouring to cradle
them. The rear bumper is just as distinct since it's an integral
part of the taillights that encase the whole rear fender cap. But
there's a bit more going on here than just stock appeal. Most of
the trim and door handles are eliminated so you can see the purity
in the design and the clean-looking sheet metal. The Bright
Tangerine paint continues to look good on this build. It's a 2002
application that has spent time on the road but still knows how to
shine. And we know about this restoration history because this
Pontiac was featured in Hot Rod magazine! And while the orange
looks distinctive, we especially like how the tan draws added
attention to the hardtop roof and its pillarless profile. While
this one loves to maximize its good looks, it also never tries to
hide its muscle. Bright American Racing wheels with a wider rear
set and a custom cowl hood with "Fat Cat" custom graphics make sure
this cool cruiser also has a powerful presence. And when you let
the air ride suspension sit nice and low, this looks like it's
trying to cheat the wind.
Not only will you draw a crowd with the adjustable stance, but also
when you use the key fob popper to open the door. There's a
thoughtful kind of style here where the interior continues the
orange and tan color theme from the exterior. We especially like
the custom center console with orange piping that unites the full
color theme. You may choose to restore the air conditioning or
refurbish the full custom stereo setup for even more comfort. Or
maybe you go in the other direction and make some added investment
to get this back into World of Wheels condition. But quite frankly,
we just like what this one represents now. The overall idea today
is about being a cruiser. So there are great driver features like
the modern front bucket seats done in supple leather, a full chrome
sports steering wheel, a B&M shifter, and upgraded readouts -
including a large AutoMeter Sport-Comp tach. And as a full-size
coupe, there's a ton of hip and leg room in the back to make this
terrific for sharing with family and friends. So it's attractive
while also being the kind of car that you won't ask everyone to
take off their shoes before entering.
A true cruiser attitude also means an upgraded powerhouse. This now
has Pontiac's top-dog 455 cubic-inch V8, and it's enhanced further
with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake.
You'll even spot good supporting components, like a newer brake
booster and an aluminum radiator. This is built to be an easy
cruiser, and so you have features like power steering and a
three-speed automatic transmission. Plus, this coupe has the
superior stopping power of four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos, build receipts,
maintenance records, and magazine features. It all proves just how
much thoughtful care and investment go into a one-of-a-kind like
this Pontiac. Call today!!!
