Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is proud to present this 1951 Ford F-100 pickup. The F-series was first introduced in 1948 as a half-ton pickup. The first- generation F-1 was built from 1948-1952. This post war pickup was an instant hit with over 108,000 units sold the first year. Before 1948 a pickup was just thought of as something to haul things, but the F-1 changed the whole perception in the pickup market. The Ford F-1 was the building block in making the pickup the work horse of America. Resulting in Ford having an instant hit that has not faltered to this day. This 1951 Ford F-100 has been painstakingly restored. Painted in period green with a red/gray vinyl interior. Black running boards, period black steel wheels mounted on bias-ply wide whitewall tires, moon wheel covers, dual outside mirrors and wood bed make this 1951 Ford pickup one attractive show piece. An AM/FM radio and seatbelts have been added comfort features. Under the hood is a flathead inline 6 I6 engine attached to a column shift three-speed manual transmission.
