Volkswagen Beetle convertible. The Volkswagen Beetle was
manufactured from 1938-1973. Remaining basically unchanged as a
two-door, rear engine economy car. The Beetle was the brainchild of
Ferdinand Porsche and has been marketed as the" people's car". By
1979 was the last year of production for the Volkswagen Beetle in
the United States. The Beetle did live on in Mexico for another
twenty- four years. This 1979 Volkswagen Beetle convertible is
painted in Mars Red with a white vinyl manual convertible top. The
interior is black Leatherette. Under the rear bonnet is a 1585cc/
48hp EFI four-cylinder engine attached to a four-speed manual
transmission. Added features include a factory AM/FM radio, working
clock and newer whitewall tires.
