30,690 actual mile survivor! This is one of the most original 57s
in the country. The person we acquired the car from father bought
it in 1971 with approximately 6,000 miles on it. He sold it in 1974
and bought it back in 1990 with 9,640 miles. He has owned the car
until his passing.
EXTERIOR: No rust or damage, all original body! The doors shut like
a new car. Original onyx black paint with just some touch up.
Considering it's 65 years old it shows really well. All original
chrome and trim, also has patina but it's straight and shiny. All
original glass in very good shape. It has reproduction white walls
and original full hubcaps. It also has optional fender skirts.
Clean jambs with vintage oil change stickers. The original
weatherstrips are still good.
INTERIOR: All original 2 tone gray-white interior and it looks
close to new. The rubber mat on the floor is in excellent shape,
typically they are cracked up. The seats are still firm, the
upholstery looks great. Matching door panels are also excellent.
The cloth headliner is excellent, not stained. The dash area is
excellent. It has a radio and clock delete plate.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very well preserved original motor compartment
just maintained as needed. The 6 cylinder is a reliable bulletproof
motor, this one runs like a sewing machine.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All original in excellent condition. Original
rubber mat. The spare and jack are complete, the original paper
jacking instructions decal is still intact.
UNDERSIDE: Rock solid very original underside. The braces, rockers,
floor pans have never been cut or rusted. It looks like brake hoses
and front shocks have been replaced. Original rear spiral shocks!
It still has its original dated automatic powerglide transmission
and rear end.
They can only be original once! Out of the thousands of 57s out
there, how many have not been restored and still look as good as
this one? Just driving the car through the parking lot, I could
tell the difference. Legitimate low mile cars feel and function so
nice!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
