This is a very clean, all steel real 1937 rumble seat Ford
cabriolet. Collector owned the last 22 years. It retains its
vintage looks but has some nice upgrades: 12 volt, hydraulic
brakes, electric fan and fuel pump etc. This isn't just a relic to
look at, this is a car you can go drive!
EXTERIOR: Rust free all metal body and fenders. It is straight as
an arrow. I did not find any bubbles, rust or body work. It was
repainted and has a mirror finish. There are some nicks and
scratches that were touched up. The bumpers and grill were
rechromed. It has a rare locking hood ornament. Glass Ford script
headlight lenses. Turn signals were added in the headlights and are
part of the taillights. The running boards have original type
rubber coverings. The convertible top is a tan Haartz cloth in
excellent shape. It is a cabriolet which means it has roll up
windows. The stance is great. Reproduction rims are smaller in
front, the white wall tires are also smaller in front.
INTERIOR: The seat, door panels, visors and behind the seat is
reupholstered. The dash is painted slick. The gauges and knobs are
very clean. It has optional radio, heater and clock. Correct rubber
mat on the floor. The V-8 logo is used throughout.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The Flathead V-8 was completely rebuilt has
period performance upgrades. Offenhauser intake and finned heads,
Fenton headers, dual carbs. This motor purrs! It never gets hot,
upgraded with an electric fan. It has reproduction hoses and
clamps. It is also upgraded with an alternator. Everything looks
clean and proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is a factory rumble seat car. It opens
easily, it has original V-8 logo handle. It has original step
plates to get in. The seat is reupholstered to match the interior.
It is also lined and upholstered inside with a rubber mat.
UNDERSIDE: Upront it has a Pete and Jake's drop axle. The steering
and suspension components look clean. The brakes have been upgraded
to hydraulic instead of mechanical. It has a stainless dual exhaust
system. Bottom of the motor is clean, the 3-speed trans looks
fresh. Overall appears to be very solid with a satin black
finish.
It has a look; I love the stance. It has the desirable improvements
that make it a better driver. Nothing to be ashamed of here, I like
it a lot!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
