Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present this gorgeous 1962 Jaguar MKII Saloon available out of our Houston showroom. One of the most readily recognized cars of the 1960s, thanks in part to countless appearances in films and on television, Jaguar's seminal MKII Saloon set the standard for the class throughout its entire production life and today remains highly prized by enthusiasts, and this example is an unmolested and unrestored example of that classic British automaking. The Mark II was a fast and capable Saloon in keeping with Sir William Lyons' 1950s advertising slogan: "Grace ... Space ... Pace" and was available with all three versions of the advanced Jaguar XK6 I6 engine, the 2.4, 3.4, and 3.8 liter. This 3.8 liter engine gives exactly the correct power while being mated to to its 3-speed automatic transmission, making for purely enjoyable driving. The Old English White exterior is beautifully contrasted with the stunning deep red leather interior & carpets and wood interior trim reminds of a time when true craftsmen showed their skills on every Jaguar that rolled out of Coventry, England. This example is also equipped with a working, trunk-mounted A/C system, updated AM/FM/CD head unit, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering and wide white wall tires wrapping Jaguar style knock-off wire wheels.
