Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is pleased to present this
clean yellow 1965 Ford F100 Pickup truck. Ford introduced a
dramatically new style of pickup in 1961 with the fourth-generation
F-Series. Longer and lower than its predecessors, these trucks had
increased dimensions and new engine and gearbox choices. In 1965,
the F-Series was given a significant mid-cycle redesign, resulting
in a completely new platform, including the introduction of Ford's
"Twin-I-Beam" front suspension. This 57-year-old truck is quite the
survivor! Its original Springtime Yellow paint has been freshened
up with a brighter, sunnier yellow, with a nice red pinstripe that
adds a nice "tie in" with its red wheels. This '65 F100 is powered
by a 352 CID V8, which is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission.
The column shift 3-speed throws off some folks who have a difficult
time conceptualizing how a "3 on the tree" works, but it's like
riding a bike - once you've done it, you don't forget. The interior
of this vintage F100 has been freshened up a bit, with a recently
recovered bench seat and a new fuel tank. The soft cloth of the
bench is certainly unlikely to fry one's back on a hot day, unlike
the original vinyl would have. This '65 F100 has had some other
recent love - an oil pressure gauge was added, the transmission was
serviced, the clutch was replaced (and flywheel resurfaced), the
rear end was serviced, and a new set of 235/75R15 Goodyear Wrangler
Trailrunner AT radials were installed; so this truck is ready to
serve its next owner for years to come!
