True classic sheet metal, a touch of street machine flair, and a
hardy V8 under the hood - this 1939 Oldsmobile series 60 is a
well-priced true classic with an awesome cruiser vibe.
These GM pre-war machines had some of the best lines of the era
with their headlights smoothly integrated into the fender, an
alligator-type hood, and curvy trunk-back rear. It carries great
classic details, like the two-piece windshield and bright
three-piece grille. Of course, there's more here than just vintage
appearance. It has great upgrades such as the deleted bumpers,
polished 15-inch wheels, and side exhaust tips below the running
boards. Plus, the teal paint was a thoughtful touch that seems to
bridge the gap between the vintage lines and more modern upgrades.
The color is not out of place for the pre-WWII era, but there's
also a nice shine to let you know this is absolutely custom. It's
an older application that has been treated with care. So the result
is a nice glow in the sunshine without being so fancy that you'll
be afraid to enjoy this custom out on the streets.
When it comes to classics, suicide door sedans are always a nice
feature because there's just an added cool factor when you open up
the opposing sets when you want to show off a little bit more. It
also gives everyone easy access to the inside, and you'll see that
this is a comfortable cruiser with room for everyone. We like how
the seats keep a classic pattern, but the gray cloth is a later
upgrade that has remained comfortable. Plus, the door panels,
headliner, and carpeting are all clean and provide an inviting
atmosphere. This is a more comfortable driver with a later model GM
steering wheel on a tilt column giving you a clear view of the
whole dash, including the upgraded gauge package.
Under the hood is the 400 cubic-inch V8. This is a great Chevy
small block that's known for big displacement and useful torque. So
it makes for the right kind of motor to give this classic Olds true
cruising power. In fact, we're told this one made a 300+ mile dive
to get to our place! And features like the TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission, power brakes, and front discs made the
drive quite pleasant.
This is a custom classic style wrapped around the right features
for everyday appeal. But you're not the only one who appreciates a
total package classic, so hurry up and call today!
