OVERVIEW
This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 pickup was partially restored within the last 500 miles and received more than $12,000 in new parts. It is powered by the original Thriftmaster 235ci inline-six engine, which is backed by a BorgWarner T-5 five-speed manual transmission. Features include a front disc brake conversion, power steering, a Painless wiring harness, a TMI bucket seat interior, and a wood bed floor. Finished in dark green over a two-tone brown and tan vinyl interior, this Chevrolet truck is available now and comes with the removed factory generator, receipts, and Alabama registration and a bill of sale in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior is finished in green and features chrome bumpers, a white grille, color-matched running boards, a stepside pickup box, and a wood bed floor. Small rust marks are visible on the interior bed panels and tailgate.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The TMI bucket seats are upholstered in two-tone brown and tan vinyl. Features include manual disc brakes, power steering, manual windows, a floor-mounted manual shifter, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood grip.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
A GPS-controlled 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, amps, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the original Thriftmaster 235ci inline-six and backed by a BorgWarner T-5 five-speed manual transmission. A new gasket set has been installed and a compression test has been completed on all cylinders. Underhood features include an alternator, a Painless wiring harness, a period correct Rochester single-barrel carburetor, a new fuel pump, an open-element air cleaner, a gray valve cover, and cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Chevrolet pickup is equipped with a solid front axle, Saginaw power steering, and a solid rear drive axle with 3.90:1 gears. The frame has been sanded and sealed with Corroseal rust converter. New parts include the fuel lines, fuel tank, brake lines, and dual-circuit master cylinder. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.
