Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is pleased to present silver and
black 1968 Ford Torino GT Fastback! Styling was drastically changed
from the 1967 Fairlane models, resulting in growth in size and
weight. The front fascia featured a full width recessed grille,
with horizontal quad headlights placed at the outer edges.
Horizontal dividing bars were featured in the grille depending on
the model. Parking lights were placed at the outer edge of the
front fenders and wrapped around the corner to also act as side
marker lights to meet the new 1968 requirements. The body sides
were smooth with one horizontal body crease running just below the
beltline from front to back. The taillights were rectangular in
shape and vertically situated in the rear panel above rear bumper.
Reverse lights were in the middle of the taillights, and small side
marker lights were located on the rear edge of the quarter panel.
The 302 CID V8 is dressed up nicely with Edelbrock valve covers and
intake, polished K/N air cleaner, MSD ignition, Ford Racing plug
wires, long tube headers, and an aluminum core radiator all mated
nicely to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Inside, the black and
silver exterior motif is carried over to the custom black and
silver synthetic leather seating surfaces, and a custom center
console has been added to increase the cool factor. This car has a
great sound and an even greater presence whether you're rolling
down the road or parked at a show. These late 1960s-era fastbacks
are hard to find, and they don't last long - don't miss out on an
opportunity to snag a '60s fastback muscle car!
