Vehicle Description
This custom 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is powered by a GM LS7
427/505hp all-aluminum engine mated to a T56 6-speed manual
transmission. It is equipped with a Detroit Speed hydroformed front
subframe, QUADRAlink rear suspension, 9-inch posi-traction rear end
with 3.50 gear ratio, power steering, power disc brakes (Wilwood)
slotted brake rotors. This custom build features a custom rear
bumper, custom grille, custom taillights, custom interior, custom
dash, hand-built fuel tank with custom coated exhaust run through
the fuel tank and a full roll cage. It features one-off custom
wheels measuring 18 inches in front and 19 inches in rear that are
a Pontiac-inspired custom build by Curtis Speed. The metalwork was
done by Pinkee's Rod Shop, with artwork and design by Jimmy Smith
and Ron Jones, and body and paint done by Ron Jones Garage. Ron
Jones Garage built the Goodguys 2021 Truck of the Year and won Best
in Class at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. This '77 Firebird
was a 2022 Barrett-Jackson Cup participant, won the Builder's
Choice award at the 24th Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals by
Goodguys, won Classic Instruments Pros' Pick and won Best Street
Machine at the 15th annual Rocky Mountain Rod & Custom car show.
