Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to present this
sunny yellow 1964 Pontiac LeMans hardtop for sale. 1964 was the
year the GTO was born, starting as an option on the Tempest (which
the LeMans was basically an upper trim level of) and the LeMans (if
buyers selected the option code "382"). While this bad boy may have
been born with a 326, it's now hosting a potent Pontiac 389 CID V8
under the hood. The stout big block has been dressed up with chrome
valve covers and air filter housing, and it also got a little extra
potential with the addition of an aluminum Edelbrock intake and an
Edelbrock 4BBL carb; so, along with the added spark from its HEI
ignition, it fires right up and settles into a nice, healthy big
block burble through its dual exhaust. The strong 389 sends its
power out back through a GM TH400 3-speed automatic transmission to
its 10-bolt rear end. Front wheel disc brakes have been added to
improve the stopping power, and a CPP brake proportioning valve
helps adjust the front/rear braking bias. It rides on a classic
wheel and tire setup, with its chromed aluminum 5-spoke mags and
P215/70R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/As looking right at home on this
vintage muscle car. The bright yellow paint is looks awesome and is
highlighted by a subtle gold double pinstripe along its flanks,
which adds a little extra pizazz. Its black and white interior is
clean and crisp, with the vinyl seating surfaces showing almost no
wear, and the black carpet is in good shape as well. A 3-gauge
cluster sits below the dash and provides key information to the
driver. What you won't see, but WILL hear, is the tunes that its
hidden sound system provides (hint: look under the front seats).
The front kick panel speakers pump out the tunes supplied by its
AM/FM/WMA/MP3/Bluetooth/MicroSD-equipped head unit and Kicker amp:
you'll find the remote for the system in the glove box. In
addition, there's a 4-port USB hub cleverly located between the
front seats, so there are plenty of ways to get sound out of, or
charge your USB devices from, the multimedia system in this LeMans.
If you're looking to get into a vintage Pontiac with early GTO
vibes, but without the GTO price tag, this one should get your
juices flowing. Additional features and options on this 1964
Pontiac LeMans hardtop include Air Conditioning (blows cool/not
cold), Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/BT/WMA/MP3/MicroSD Radio, Anti-theft
System, Power Brakes, Power Locks (enabled by the anti-theft
system), Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seatbelts, Spare tire and
Jack, and Vinyl Interior. Call or email our Houston showroom for
more info on this slick ride!
