Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1978 Mercedes-Benz 300D. The Mercedes W123 is one of the most
well-engineered cars of all time and are widely known for lasting
for decades, or even millions of miles, without any issues. This
means that they work great as an affordable classic. They are not
old to the point where they cannot be driven comfortably but are
old enough to feel special. Powering the Mercedes-Benz 300D is a
single overhead cam, 3.0L naturally aspirated 5-cylinder diesel
engine mated up to a buttery smooth 4-speed automatic transmission
that has been newly refreshed. This is a very well-preserved Benz
and it honestly looks like it just rolled off the show room floor.
The seats in the car look as if they were never sat in! The car is
finished in pastel grey and features chrome-accented US-market
impact bumpers and a power antenna. The cabin features front bucket
seats and a rear bench upholstered in blue leather with matching
door panels and carpets along with wood trim on the dashboard and
center console. Equipment includes power steering, cruise control,
air conditioning, an Alpine stereo with 4 new speakers, and power
windows and locks. The air conditioning system was recently redone
and converted to use 134a refrigerant. Instrumentation consists of
a 115-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant
temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. Everything you want,
everything you need, and everything you expect out of classic
Mercedes Benz & backed by a power train that will last through the
ages. The are listed as one of the top vehicles that will only
appreciate over time, so if you have ever thought of how nice it
would be to daily-drive a classic import, this should be worthy of
consideration.
