Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is excited to present this
1990 Volvo 740 Wagon restomod, packing a 383 stroker V8. Our
apologies in advance to our friends in Sweden if they are offended
by the marriage of a strong running American Chevrolet V8 in one of
their family cruisers. But we promise... it does the car proud! The
exterior features nice quality custom paint & rims, setting it
apart from your typical 740. And what a sleeper! That is, until you
wing it up and stand on it- signaling it's packing a bit more motor
than it was born with. The interior is for the most part stock
appearing, with some mods to the instrument panel to keep a better
eye on activity under the hood. Aftermarket air conditioning was
added, and the power steering, power brakes, AM/FM/CD radio, heated
leather seating, power windows & locks give this freeway blaster a
touch of luxury. The under hood conversion looks good.. simplified
from it's factory form. The low horsepower 2.3 liter 4-cylinder is
long gone, replaced with a 383 stroker Chevrolet and GM's sturdy
700R4 4-speed automatic & 4:11 rear end gearing. Headers &
Magnaflow exhaust routes all the fury to the rear- where anyone who
messes with it will likely be, left shaking their heads as this
rather innocent grocery-getter pulls away from them. 4 wheel disc
brakes assure better braking. It is a well-mannered, for-fun
vehicle with a personality ranging from tame to exciting. It's a
grin maker for sure- you can haul stuff in, show it, smoke the
unsuspecting car next to you, or drive to work every day!
