Fords from the 1939/40 model years are known for being one of the most stylish pre-war era designs, with the major distinguishable difference between '39 and '40 being the three-piece grille with chrome center section. The chrome headlight surrounds and hubcaps tell you that this was the "Deluxe" model too. Of course, this is no stock 1940 Ford but is very presentable in two-tone Red and Black with a Black canvas manually operated convertible top. The Coker white wall radial tires on painted steel wheels show nicely and exterior door handles have been shaved for a clean look. Pop the hood and you'll find a hot rod staple- a small-block 350 CID crate motor with an Edelbrock 4bbl carburetor, electronic ignition, aluminum radiator and exhaust headers for a throaty soundtrack. The 3-speed Turbo350 automatic transmission shifts gears on a column shifter and turns the rear wheels through a Ford 9" rear end. Front disc brakes along with rack and pinion steering help this hot rod handle better than you'd think.
