Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Detroit is proud to present this 2005 Chevy
SSR. The SSR styled design was inspired by Chevrolet's late-1940s
trucks, in particular the 1947-1955 pickups. The vehicle rode on a
GM368 platform specific to it, a version of the period's highly
adaptable GMT360, and featured a steel body retractable hardtop
designed by Karmann and built by ASC. Early SSR's came with a
decent 300 horse 5.3 V8. But by 2005, the mighty LS2 V8 6.0 liter
was fitted, with a very respectable 390 horsepower. This 6.0 is
mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 6-speed manual examples
are quite rare with only 2,213 units being made! Finished in the
color "Redline red" which pairs great with the black leather
interior, both are in great shape. The retractable hardtop works
great. With nothing to unbolt or even latches to pull, this top
goes down with just the push of a button. Options include: A/C,
AM/FM/CD radio, cruise control, heated seats, power brakes, power
steering, power locks, power seats, power windows, power mirrors,
ABS, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, keyless entry, airbags,
anti-theft system, and posi-tracion.This thing is ready for
whatever you want to throw at it. Whether you want to use it like a
truck and load the bed with supplies or groceries, use it like a
roadster and have top down fun while you hit some weekend car
shows. No matter your use, you will always have a smile on you in
this somewhat rare 6-speed, 6.0L SSR!
