For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet C10 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1968 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup

The model year 1960 brought the Chevrolet pickup into the modern era with its C/K series lineup. The "C" designation identified two-wheel-drive pickups, and the "K" identified 4X4s. The most common pickup was the C10, a half-ton truck with a 6.5- or 8-foot cargo box. The C/K series trucks remained essentially the same vehicle during a series of conservative redesigns, until 1997, when the 1998 Silverado replaced it.

For consignment, a very well done restoration, the beneficiary of a body off frame process 5 years ago, some liberties were taken to spice it up but still retaining the wildly popular look of the 68 C-10. Ladies and Gentlemen... we have a goer and a shower 2WD 1/2 ton beauty.

Exterior
Off the frame the original body went, where steel surfaces were painstakingly smoothed and sanded, and then put back together with well minded gaps, and bathed in just beautiful dark red metallic paint. Looking closely it is flawless, and definitely the deep end of the pool. A new billet styled front grille was put on, as well as a 2 inch cowl induction style hood. Badging is also perfect with the bowties and Betty Boop caricatures on front quarters and rear gate. Suicide doors now allow for entry. The bed is a custom fashioned one from the 90's and has a rubber liner and tonneau covering. On the back, a new exhaust pipe, (duals), peekthrough the rear roll pan that replaces that clunky old bumper with a body matching panel. LED tail lighting is noted on either corner of the bed. All glass was replaced with tinted, and surrounds blackened. Grounding this beauty are shiny polished 15 inch rally wheels wrapped in front with 225/70R15's and on back with 275/60R15's.

Interior
Customized would be the word inside there, bird, with plenty of stitched broadcloth tightly adhered to the door panels. Billet cranks and actuators are now on and a shiny vinyl armrest is mounted to the front of the suicide hinged doors. Inside a world of comfort awaits with dual broadcloth overstuffed bucket seats, and a center armrest which when folded up creates a jumpseat in the middle. The C-10 factory dash has been modded with brushed aluminum panels and now a central to the driver mounted tachometer. Fronting the dash a Grant GT rally steering wheel reaching for the driver. A large white and red marble tops the shifter and as your eye moves towards the passenger side a red panel interrupts the aluminum and houses an AM/FM single CD radio, and the temp sliders. In front of the passenger is a glovebox with a brushed aluminum door panel covering. Nice brown textured hooks and loop carpeting has protective rubber mats on top and presents as new. Heating and new defrost have been added on.

Drivetrain
Opening the hood reveals a showroom condition restored engine bay bathed in more red and some black. Shoehorned in its a blinged out engine in the form of a BIG consignor stated 454ci V8. Within, ourconsignor states it has a solid lifter cam. On top of a shiny intake manifold is an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor to feed the 454 cuber fossils and O2. Filtering the air is a nifty pleated red open air cleaner in a chromed framed carrier. On the back is a TH350 3 speed automatic which hooks up with a 12 bolt rear axle. For the exhale headers and a Flowmaster are on in dual style. This is all cooled by an electric fan. I can feel the tires spinning and smoking right now!

Undercarriage
Due to the frame off restoration, the underside is just as nice as the topside. All rust free black frame, rockers, steel colored stamped floor pans, a new fuel tank, dual exhaust which snakes rearward from the headers, and a totally leak and drip free transmission and oil pan are seen. Like new power disc brakes are up front, and power drums for the rear, as well as all very clean suspension with no road dirt to be seen underneath.

Drive-Ability
I slipped inside and was amazed at the attention to detail with the paint, interior surfaces, new dash, and just....everything! She fired right up and to the test track we drove where this truck performed flawlessly. Tight power steering, straight bias free power brakes, nice abundant and seemingly never ending acceleration, and even a smooth comfortable cruise with plenty of interior room. All functions were working very nicely.

From head to toe, top and bottom, every inch is near perfect on this '68 C-10. Get in and turn the key and you'll be the envy of your construction crew showing up to the site in this beauty. It's that nice, you could even take the wife out to an expensive dinner in it to celebrate your purchase of said truck! Although make sure there is a nice gift on the seat for her when she gets in, because after all you bought the truck...Hmmmmmmmm
