This is the kind of truck that instantly gets your mind working.
You just know how amazed people will be to see you show up in a
1952 International Truck L-160 COE (Cab Over Engine). And this
"Snubnose" has been restored to be authentic, stylish, and a
powerful classic hauler.
You already love this one because it's always going to be the
biggest toy in the toybox. But this L160 model is also desirable
because it's the last of the series before the toned-down R-series
debuted. This is a California truck, and it was restored in 2015.
The newer work shows in the gloss coming from the two-tone cab. In
fact, this color theme is almost like a step-down fade as you go
from the white top, to the gray middle, and then the black chassis.
How cool is that?! And there are fun details like the Mack-style
lockbox behind the cab and the large exhaust tip. But his one is
more about true vintage honesty. That's why you have the
vintage-style tires, steel wheels, and classic IH badging. And we
particularly like the roof that has both tour top running lights
and the big horns that make the classic semi truck bellow.
There was plenty more invested to make sure the old-school attitude
continues inside. Simple door panels, vent windows, deep black
carpeting, and the springy bench seat make this almost feel like a
time machine instantly transporting you to when this went on its
first long haul run. While the restoration erased any signs of
decades in use, you can still feel the echoes of those dawn-to-dusk
workmen who have come before you just by the textured grip on the
large three-spoke steering wheel. The International logo is on
everything, including on the classic gauge pack, heater, steering
wheel center cap, and even the ashtray. It's all a reminder that
this truck is not only larger than a Ford or Chevy, but also a
rarer sight.
Open up the snub nose, and you can see that the exceptionally
honest and clean presentation continues in the engine bay. The tidy
appearance under the hood really lets that Silver Diamond motor
take center stage. This 240 cubic-inch motor is part of a long
tradition of inline sixes at International Harvester. It fires up
with the kind of quality that continues to provide robust
industrial power. Plus, the four-speed manual transmission has a
great old-school feel while also providing the best in control.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and maintenance
records. You're not the only one who has plans for this kind of
unique classic. After all, it will look great with a personalized
logo on the doors. So if you want to make it yours, hurry up and
call now!
