Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is very pleased to be
able to offer this stunning Roman Red 1960 Chevrolet Corvette (VIN#
00867S105632). It is believed that this particular Corvette was 1
of 38 C1's assembled on March 30th, 1960. There are not many
vehicles around that scream "American Classic" quite like a C1
Corvette, and the iconic Roman Red exterior with red coves and the
black canvas soft top & recently redone leather interior are a
highly desirable color combination on this mostly original piece of
automotive history. This also includes the Roman Red hard top with
a black headliner, but we all know that these early Corvettes are
meant to be enjoyed topless! Powered by the 245hp, dual 4-barrel
Carter carb fed, this 283 CID V8 (casting #3756519/#F05I5D stamp)
is believed to be (but not verified) an original factory
replacement block & is teamed up to a Muncie T-10 4-speed
transmission (#3088336 patent stamping), delivering spirited
driving to say the least. The previous owner went to great lengths
to restore this Corvette back to its original glory, obtaining most
of the original replacement equipment over several years through
Corvette Stop Restoration Services, in Shingle Springs, CA. There
is an extensive list of invoices and parts orders down to the
smallest of details, as well as dozens of pages of correspondence
between them regarding the exact NCRS judging requirements &
binders full of information that will be passed on to the lucky new
owner! This C1 is slightly updated, but easily taken back to stock,
with the addition of the front disc brakes, some American Racing
wheels, B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player.
This Corvette is completely road ready and needs nothing but a new
garage!
