For Sale: 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 in Longwood, Florida

Vehicle Description

1967 Mercury Cougar XR7, Blue on Blue with black vinyl top with XR7 badging.  This car is a good cruiser and can wake you up if you press too hard on the gas pedal.  It has very good looks and excellent lines.  This is an original AC car that came with power drum brakes.  The exterior blue color is a late 90's Mercury shade.  Has AC, power steering, and converted to power disc brakes up front.  Has a stock 289 engine paired with a C4 transmission that was rebuilt once.  Odometer mileage is believed to be correct.  Has an Edelbrock 450 cfm 4 Barrel Carburetor, headers, and dual exhaust.  Has American Racing rims with 60's all around.  Exterior paint and interior are in good condition.  The gaps between body panels are very good.

Lots of new parts within the last 2 years.  The stock power drum brakes converted to disc up front with all new front end suspension parts.  In addition, a new master cylinder and booster were added, new Classic Air AC system, radiator and hoses, alternator, battery, power steering pump, oil pump, timing chain, carburetor, MSD distributor, heavy duty spark plug wires, spark plugs, new dual exhaust system from mufflers to tailpipes, new air cleaner and valve covers.  Almost forgot, new carpet and sound dampening material was installed after the subframe connectors were welded to the front and rear sub-frames.  I will post underside pictures later which will show the connectors and everything else.

The price of this car reflects the following.  This car is driver quality although it shows really well.  There are minor scratches and chips on the paint and there is some wear to the interior and dash and a small tear on the drivers seat and a small puncture in the rear seat.  The chrome is tarnished in some areas and has wear and scratches in some areas.  The engine has not been rebuilt and runs good but does have some valve lifter noise.  The vacuum controlled headlight covers work well.  The sequential blinkers work initially then sometimes turn off and have to be worked manually although a new solid state blinker control module was installed.  The bluetooth radio powers up and can connect to my iphone but has no output to the speakers.  The floor pans under the driver and passenger seats were replaced at one time.  About 6" of one front sub-frame rail was MIA and when I had the subframe connectors installed, this section was replaced.  This car is not waterproof, I wash it with a spray bottle.  It is garage kept and I drive it once or twice a week only in good sunny Florida weather.  It was not effected by any of the recent storms here.  It's a big state and where I'm at there was only tree damage in an adjacent neighborhood.

Thanks for looking at my car and I would be glad to answer any questions you have if you're interested.

P.S. It comes with a box of parts worth around $500 which includes chrome side mirrors and a gauge cluster among the parts.  Also have some manuals which will be included in the sale.
