Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1953
Willys 4X4 Jeep pickup. The first Willys Jeep was produced in 1940
for military use with Jeep manufacturing the first civilian use
Willys in 1945. The success of Jeep opened up a whole new 4X4
recreational market that is still going strong today. This 1953 CJ
series Willys was produced from 1948-1953. New features included a
higher hood to accommodate a more powerful four-cylinder engine,
improved ventilation, and a one-piece windshield. Body styles had
expanded to also include pickups, wagons, and special purpose
models. This 1953 Willys 4X4 Jeep pickup is painted in a clearcoat
tan. Accented with black wheels and just enough chrome to give this
Jeep a polished look. One can see the extensiv restoration this
Willys has received with attention given to every aspect of this
build including suspension, Haywire wiring harness, 2.5 stainless
exhaust, a 350 V-8 GM crate engine, three-speed manual transmission
w/ a Warren overdrive unit, and a Dana 53 rear end with a 4.88 gear
ratio. The interior consists of brown plaid cloth/vinyl TMI bucket
seats accented with tan burlap trim panels and headliner. Added
features include a GPS speedometer, electric gauges, Bluetooth
radio, and tilt steering wheel.
