For Sale: 1972 De Tomaso Pantera in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

1 owner car most of its life. The person we acquired it from has owned it 12 years and he says he bought it from the original owner. This one has 2 original window stickers and owner's manual. Sold new at Malmon Lincoln, list price $11,199. The Pantera is a mid-engine Italian sports car with a Ford big block motor. They were sold in limited quantities through Lincoln dealers at a cost almost double of a Corvette

EXTERIOR: I think the body is very impressive. It is straight and fits really good. No rust or damage. It was born yellow; the paint shows very well with a glossy finish. If you look closer it has some flaws, there is an area on the hood with some cracking. Pop up headlights work great. The original bumpers are very good original condition. The stainless trim is very good. Original glass is good. Original cast magnesium wheels, tires look excellent.

INTERIOR: Very good original, unabused condition. The only thing changed is a stereo and speakers. The dash upholstery is excellent. Complete set of original matching gauges. The knobs and switches look great. Original carpet, original upholstery is very good. The console is great, original gated 5-speed shifter. The headliner is drooping down.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 351 Cleveland big block. Rebuilt carb, MSD ignition system and headers. Stock intake, valve covers and air cleaner assembly. It runs strong!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: In back is a removable tub that serves as a trunk. It has original collapsible spare and jack assembly. Extra parts are included too including the air conditioning parts original to the car. There is also a trunk compartment in front. You will also find the power brake booster and battery.

UNDERSIDE: The floors and frame rails appear to be rock salad as 4 wheel independence suspension call components appear to be in good working good working order as a factory style exhaust going out through the rear balance This breaks at all 4 wheels Uses a ZF transaction axle that's where the 5 speed transfer in the ruin gears are all one unit. Rebuilt hydraulic clutch.

I'm intrigued by this car. It's a sexy Italian sportscar with American Muscle power. I believe it is a good honest car.

What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom.
