HIGHLIGHTS: Wow! Nicely restored and preserved '56 Buick! Same
family 20+ years! Turn-key four door family cruiser! Movie car!
BODY OVERVIEW: Partially restored in the early 2000s, this Buick
shows very, very well. The body is straight and appears to be free
of major damages. With about 10 miles of chrome on this car, you're
bound to find an imperfection somewhere, but as a whole the body,
bumpers, and trim are in great condition! Imperfections are shown
in the photos.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Finished in its original two-tone colors
of Castle Grey and Dove White, this Buick really shines in the
paint department-literally! Although this car is wearing an older
repaint, it presents extremely well and seriously delivers on the
shine. As can be seen in the photos, some paint imperfections are
present but extremely minimal.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior of this Buick is the area
that really speaks to how much of this car is still original,
despite the partial restoration. The seats have been recovered, but
it appears that only the cloth was replaced and the red vinyl may
be original to the car. If it is original red vinyl, it is in
astounding condition! Most of the hardware appears to be good
quality original parts that were cleaned and/or refinished. The
headliner is certainly original, and does have some visible
staining as shown in the photos.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Mechanically, this car functions as expected.
The Buick V8 engine runs smoothly, the transmission shifts well,
and it has been preserved beautifully. While this car certainly
doesn't drive like a modern car, it is important to remember that
Buicks had more of a luxury status in 1956 than they do now, so
this car drives and rides very comfortably.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The contrast of the low-key paint
colors and the miles of bright chrome! Plus this car was
purportedly featured as a background vehicle in the 2002 movie
Catch Me If You Can!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you like fresh, 100% new
nuts and bolts restored vehicles this is probably not for you.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Nothing but a new owner!
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking to get into a
reasonably priced, turn-key 1950s icon!
