1 owner until 2007, 40 years! Heavily documented, #s matching real
442. Loaded with options including air conditioning. Very desirable
and rare colors on a rust free car. It was sold new at Bill Romel
Olds in Redondo Beach, California. We have original
Protect-o-plate, sale contract, purchase order, invoice and owner's
manual. It also includes maintenance records and owner history. It
lived most of its life in California- Vegas-New Mexico-Texas.
EXTERIOR: Very impressive California body with all original metal.
It is straight everywhere I look, the panels fit square. There's no
rust or damage, bottoms of the doors are clean. $15,064 paint job
in 2008, that was a lot back then, especially on a rust free car.
Repainted its original Spanish red color. It is smooth and glossy.
The chrome and stainless trim are very nice. Reproduction T-3
headlights, BFG radial redline tires are mounted on SS1 chrome
wheels. New bright white vinyl top
INTERIOR: Inside this car is in excellent shape. New red upholstery
on the seats, new door panels, headliner and visors. The carpet is
excellent, it has new 442 mats. Full set of red GM seat belts.
Center console is good original shape. The dash area is in very
good original shape. Rare rally pack cluster which includes a
tachometer, gages, and clock. The AM radio plays clear as a bell.
Overall, very tidy.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment is restored and detailed
to factory new. The original 400 makes 350 horsepower. It's
completely stock - manifolds, air cleaner, valve covers, even the
stickers. Features include power steering, power brakes and factory
air conditioning. The a/c system has been rebuilt with several new
components and updated to R134 freon. It's a California car and
still has its original smog equipment completely hooked up.
Detailed with reproduction hoses and clamps. It has spring clamp
battery cables with the Delco battery topper. Every component looks
excellent. All the metal surfaces are smooth and painted nicely.
All the wiring is run neatly. It looks complete- it has hood
insulation, washer system all hooked up, correct rubber flaps on
each side of the radiator.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid original metal. No rust, patches or
splices. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted smooth gloss
red. Trunk compartment is neatly spatter painted. It has a new 2
piece rubber mat and matching tire cover. Never used 5th matching
BFG tire for a spare. Complete jack assembly. The wiring is in
excellent shape, has a working trunk lamp. Replaced weather strip
and decals.
UNDERSIDE: Very impressive underneath! The metal is about as clean
as I've ever seen. The floor pans, braces, rockers and even the
lower inner quarters have no rust or repairs. Even the chassis is
all smooth clean metal, not even pitted. It's been cleaned and
neatly painted semi-gloss black. It has the rally suspension which
includes boxed rear control arms and swaybars. The front end looks
like it's been completely rebuilt including ball joints, bushings,
shocks, steering components etc. Rear suspension is rebuilt,
bushings and shocks were replaced. New factory style exhaust system
with the correct crimped tailpipes. The fuel system is new
including the tank and straps. Rare disc brakes in front. The
brakes were rebuilt, hoses replaced, e-brake is hooked up. Bottom
of the motor looks spotless, starter looks new. Clean original
Turbo 400 automatic with the original 1967 tag still attached.
Original dated and coded 10 bolt rear with 3.08 cruising gears.
This is a sweetheart! It is obvious this 442 has always been cared
for. Someone will be getting a wonderful car!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
