Vehicle Description
This 1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner has a cool hardtop profile, and
the look of intimidation from all that darkness is no accident.
That's because this has a recently rebuilt 428 V8. It even includes
all your favorite power car features, like four-on-the-floor, an
upgraded suspension, and a full tri-power setup.
Starliners are truly a special form of full-size Fords. They have a
sleek roofline and pillarless hardtop profile. Not only is this
attractive, but it was also rarer than the convertible in 1961.
Because this is so special, the coupe is boldly finished in a
glossy and attractive Raven Black. You can see the care that went
into keeping this premium Ford nice. Details like the full-length
trim, fender-mounted ornaments, ornate grille, and jet-inspired
taillights mean that nobody will mistake this for anything but an
upper-class Ford. And the hallmark stars draw extra attention to
the seductive thin roof pillar. Everything is clean and complete,
with an overall style that never wants to make you afraid of
driving this one. That's why they even upgraded you to better tires
mounted on competition-style Torq Thrust wheels.
The interior is done with an eye for care and style. The attractive
black returns, and now it's accented by white on the upholstery,
door panels, headliner, and even the shifter. The cloth inserts in
the seats look and feel excellent, and so it makes this full-size
coupe quite inviting. In fact, all the fundamentals have a quality
look, and it goes for a very classic style, right down to the
working dome light. But as a driver's classic, you'll also
appreciate the tingle of performance you get from well-placed
upgrades. The Hurst floor shifter, column-mounted tach, and full
auxiliary readouts are there to remind you that the best soundtrack
may not come from the AM/FM stereo.
You're going to love lifting the hood and showcasing the
powerhouse. We have a receipt showing this 428 cubic-inch V8 was
rebuilt only a few months ago. It includes a .60 bored over kit, a
new camshaft, a polished crank, and a three-angle valve job. And
you can just tell this is fresh but the clean look of the ribbed
valve covers and matching air filter. And beneath that big air
grabber is something quite special: a triple set of dual-barrel
carbs. Oh yes, you have an awesome big block and it gets to inhale
with some serious tri-power force. There's even a new aluminum
radiator to help keep this mighty motor running cool. You have the
best control over this big power V8 with the four-speed manual
transmission. The shifting action is smooth and confident to make
you want to hit the road. They even beefed up the rear end with
traction bars, a sway bar, and a 9-inch limited-slip unit with 3.70
gears. Plus, this was built to be an all-around confident driver
with a refreshed front end, power steering, power brakes, and
drilled & slotted front discs.
Complete with build receipts and the owner's manual, this is the
cool and rare Galaxie Starliner that makes a powerful statement
with its look and muscle. Don't let it slip away, call today!
