Vehicle Description
Right here is a real looker. This 1972 Dodge Demon is a mean car,
and it looks the part. With a bright yellow paintjob and an
aggressive stance, this Demon certainly has the performance to back
up the name. Marketed as an economy car with a performance and
stylistic kick, the new Dodge Dart Demon for 1971 was offered with
a 198 or 225 C.I. slant six-cylinder or the 318 V8 engine, but it
soon earned a reputation as a low-dollar muscle car in Demon 340
trim, just like this example. The Demon's mascot was a cartoon
devil with a trident, and marketing materials were sprinkled with
devilish puns. A few religious groups didn't like the attention the
name was getting, however, and Dodge took some heat for the Demon's
name and logo. Chrysler had enjoyed lots of success with budget
muscle cars in the late 1960s and as a result, when Plymouth's new
Duster debuted in 1970, it was only fitting that a Dodge would soon
share its fastback style and offer its own tire-smoking 340
variant. Powered by a formidable 340 C.I. V8 with a Holley 4-barrel
carburetor and intake manifold, this is one Dodge that really
moves. That power is backed up by a column-shifted automatic
transmission, delivering quick and smooth acceleration to the rear
end. Now, what really sets this Demon apart from the pack is its
paint. Covered in an eye-catching bright yellow paintjob with black
accents, this Demon looks like a bumblebee ready to sting. The
matching black interior bench seats are remarkably comfortable, and
even comes with a center fold-down armrest. This interior is
perfect for long-haul cruising! This Demon is fitted with options
such as a Grant GT steering wheel, an updated Pioneer AM/FM/CD/Aux
stereo unit, a heater + defroster, front hood scoops, power
steering, and a dual exhaust system. The car rides on some sweet
17" Ridler wheels on top of some Road Hugger GT Ultra tires. This
Demon is one angry little car, and it is sitting on our lot now
waiting for its next owner!
