California Camaro with a 427 big block. Frame off restored. It is
actually very nice top to bottom. I became more impressed the
closer I looked. I also became more impressed the closer I
listened; this thing sounds tough! It's a street car with some real
muscle.
EXTERIOR: The body is actually amazing on this car. It appears to
have no rust or damage, it's smooth from the rockers to the roof.
No bubbles, no body work showing and all the panels line up.
Fiberglass hood with a tall cowl. Painted ermine white and it is
polished to a very smooth, high gloss finish. I didn't find any
nicks or scratches. Bumpers, taillights and bow tie mirror have
been replaced. The grill, stainless moldings and door handles are
original. The windshield is new. Weather strips and window seals
have been replaced. Polished Weld wheels have BFG tires, Drag
Radials in back.
INTERIOR: Very tidy inside. The backseat is very nice original, the
front seats have been recushioned and upholstered. Door panels,
carpet and headliner were replaced. Dash pad is mint, steering
wheel is crack. It has a 6 point roll cage. Upgraded with Hurst
Quarter Stick shifter, Sport Comp gauges and a Monster Tach. Heater
and radio delete.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very desirable "512" casting block. Real 427
bored to a 434, rebuilt by Anderson Engine Development. It has a
Performer intake, Holley 850 double pumper carb, MSD ignition,
Hooker long tube headers. The front of the motor has a one wire
alternator and billet pulleys. Cadmium plated brake booster, new
master and lines. External vacuum reservoir because of the radical
cam.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Composite fuel cell. The battery is also
relocated to the trunk. The roll bar does extend to the trunk
floor. All clean original metal, bottom of the trunk lid and the
jamb were painted white. Weather strip was replaced.
UNDERSIDE: Wow, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it is under
this car. It was body off frame restored. California car so the
floors and chassis are spotless. Smooth metal with satin finish
paint. The front end has been completely rebuilt- the suspension
and steering. Upgraded swaybar. The front is tied to the back with
frame connectors. New mono leaf springs, shocks and Caltracs
control arms. Disc brake upgrade in front, brake lines replaced,
e-brake assembly is hooked up. 3 inch dual exhaust with Flowmaster
mufflers. Built Turbo 400 automatic with a manual reverse valve
body and trans cooler. Holley electric fuel pump and filter. Bottom
of motor is spotless. Freeze plugs still look fresh, new motor
mounts, high torque starter. Rebuilt driveshaft with a safety loop.
12 bolt rear with an aluminum girdle cover.
This is not the typical tacky hot rod with a roll bar. It has a
very healthy, very desirable 427 motor in a rust free body. It's
very tidy throughout.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
