Vehicle Description
During the '60s, Ferrari produced some of their most revered
models, cars that captured the hearts of enthusiasts and have
become solid-gold icons..like the $90,000,000 GTO! Sharing some of
the same overall design lines of those fabulous 2-seaters, the
model with the largest production and most sales was the 330GT 2+2.
Built in two series, only about 1100 330s were produced and are now
recognized as very worthy representatives of Ferrari's golden
era...but at a much more affordable price! Its 4-liter Colombo
engine was the latest development of the V12 that powered Ferrari's
first grand prix car, and is amazingly durable and is considered
iconic itself. The second-series 330 had a cleaned-up headlight
treatment and a 5-speed transmission along with other more-subtle
improvements, and this car is one of the very finest ones extant.
Marcel Massini has tracked its history from new through only 5
owners. It was never allowed to fall into disrepair and its recent
professional restoration succeeded in making #7917 virtually new
again. The original engine was completely overhauled, chassis &
suspension rebuilt and the car trimmed in all-new medium-blue
leather like it was when new. The extremely-complementary original
color of Grigio Fumo was retained and the car now presents as a
great-driving, fully sorted, serious show contender. Never shown
since the restoration, but the car is easily Platinum-level and
will be a wonderful asset for owner #6.
