Vehicle Description
This here is an incredibly nice example of a 1968 Chevrolet
Chevelle SS. In 1968, the Chevrolet Chevelle received an all-new
sculpted body with enhanced, flowing bodylines with tapered front
fenders and a rounded beltline. Hardtop coupes, of which this
fantastic Chevelle is an example, were characterized as
"Semi-Fastbacks" with their longer hood and shorter decks
influenced by the 1967 Camaro, which was introduced the year prior.
The SS 396 sport coupe, the specs of this car, started at $2,899 -
or $236 more than a regular Malibu. Powered by the numbers-matching
396 C.I. V8 mated to a 4-barrel carburetor, this Chevelle will get
out of its own way very quickly. That power is transferred to the
rear end through a 3-speed automatic transmission paired to a
12-bolt rear axle. The interior is absolutely stunning, as the
"Matador Red" interior is absolutely show quality. That red trim
extends to the bucket seats, center console, and dashboard, making
this sweet Chevelle's interior extremely striking. Options on this
Chevelle include original gauges, a working "Rolling" tachometer, a
working clock, a factory AM/FM radio and stereo system that sounds
fantastic, air conditioning, power steering, brakes and wipers,
ventilated windows, a tilt steering wheel, and a dual exhaust
system. It rides on a great set of factory-style rally wheels on
top of blackwall tires. This is an incredibly nice, original SS
that you really don't see too many of, especially in this
condition. Coming with loads of factory options, this Chevelle
makes for an extraordinary cruiser and is sure to turn heads up and
down main street.
